Hi everyone! This is Bekah and Sydney posting on the blog!
To start our travel day, we met in downtown Madison at 9:15am. Here’s a picture of us on the coach bus to get to O’Hare!
Romania GO Team Heads Out
In O’Hare, the team’s highlight was definitely (probably) seeing Joey Chestnut (the hot dog eating record holder). Our flight was smooth – Bekah got a lot of sleep – and it was the most comfortable flight Sydney has been on. Even though we were slightly delayed, we made it to Germany with plenty of time to get some food and coffee – German pretzels for breakfast sound pretty good after an 8 hour flight!

We were a little giggly in customs because the custom officer thought we were all related (don’t know if he was joking or not) and were Keely’s kids. The flight from Frankfurt to Bucharest had quite a bit of turbulence. We finally made it to Bucharest but then had to wait for our luggage to arrive for a little while. We then met the Romanians and went in a cool blue and yellow bus to the mall to get some food. Bekah had a really yummy Popeye’s Chicken Sandwich, (though still not better than Chick fil a’s sandwich), and Sydney got a really good chicken bowl.
We talked a lot to one of the Romanians named Rachel and some of us got to sleep. We played a lot of car games and then got to Ethos in Craiova at 8:30pm! We ate pizza with the Romanian team and got to try their famous French fry pizza.
At the end of the day, we were all very tired and exhausted from the last 28 hours. We can’t wait to shower and sleep, but we are excited to get started tomorrow!

OK, I just saw this post. Had to comment again! Joey Chestnut?! I had to Google him but that’s amazing. Sounds like a super fun trip so far, praying for good bonding and good sleep! Love and prayers to each of you!

Praying the whole team is a blessing to those they encounter and in turn God is going to send blessings to you all! Being hungry sometimes and very tired is part of a mission trip BUT God will give you strength for each day. 🙂 Love you, Sydney
