Hey all!! Katelyn here…first of all, sorry for the lateness of this post. I was asked to blog about a couple days ago when I thought I would be blogging about yesterday! It is hard for me to remember what happened this past Saturday because so many other good things have happened since then. Well, to start off our day we had breakfast at Daniel and Dana’s. We had our regular breakfast of a colorful vegetable mix of tomatoes, cucumbers, and white peppers. We also had an option of cereal or bread with peanut butter and prune jam (special for Trent’s issues). After breakfast we had team time with just the Americans. During this time we had a devotional studying Proberbs 2. We got the opportunity to slow down and reflect on our time here so far. The leaders indirectly and talked with us & also surprised us with letters from home. Thank you to everyone who took the time to write letters for our team. They were very encouraging to us. After our team time we had lunch which broke out into a full on water war (started by our host Dana!). It didn’t take long before several of us were fully drenched. Allysa P.(Jessica 2) and I held our own with our one jug of water against Beni, Iazmin, Cristi, and Lavi who were chasing us all around Ethos with a water hose and four full jugs of water that they intended to dump on us. After all the craziness of the water fight we had had a great celebration & 2 cakes for Trent’s birthday (one written in English & the other Romanian)! Thanks for having a birthday Trent so we could have that amazing chocolate fudge cake!! When we were done indulging in Romanian cake we continued our camp planning with the Romanian leaders which also consisted of more eating. Rodica made us delicious bread which we got to nibble on as we worked hard to prepare for the night. Later on we made the trek to a different park where we met the orphans and continued to build relationships with them. At that point we were already so excited for camp, but we didn’t realize that our excitement for camp with the orphans would grow even more by the end of the night. We played group games with the orphans including Viking (a very loud yelling game) & a game called “Ratzele ce Vanatori” (ducks & hunters), a dodgeball like game. Overall we had an awesome night at the park with lots of fun games, great conversation with the orphans, and many pictures!! To finish off a great day we went back to Daniel and Dana’s to eat dinner! The Ethos cooks who have been making our meals have never failed to give us anything less than the most scrumptious meals! I think everyone can agree that the food so far has been awesome! Well, even though I’m finishing up this blog post a little late it was good to look back and remember all the good times we have had so far! Alrighty…until next time Murica!!
