Saturday: Making Preps and Enjoying Craiova

Dear loved ones at home,

This is Finn and Mason writing for you today. To begin we would like to speak for everyone that we already are missing home and all those who have been following/supporting us from afar.

After today’s breakfast, we headed over to the “gypsy market” which had much to hold for us, including clothes, Legos, perfume, and everything you could imagine, all at this one big busy market. Our Romanian friends helped us find the good stuff and barter prices!

Following that, we had a team meeting and lunch with the Romanians, growing our connections with them. We then got to go out shopping for supplies for camp with our activity groups. Finn was with the sports team and went to a supermarket in a mall to find sport supplies, while Mason went to Jumbo, which was a huge store where you had to go through every section to get to the end of the store, and they got lots of fun costumes and icebreaker game supplies as the skits team. Then they went on a small side mission to get some Romanian famous candies which were splendid!

Lastly, after some rest and more camp planning time, we headed out to the Craiova Park and had Shoarma (shwarma), there. At the park, we walked and talked a lot with most of the Romanian camp leaders and a couple campers. We were lucky enough to see a live Christian band playing there, and took lots of fun group photos throughout the whole walk!

With love and blessings,

Mason and Finn out

You guys, this time in Craiova before camp is so special. It sounds like you’re getting stuff done and having fun while building relationships. Be gracious and open minded as you learn and experience more about the culture, and be generous with your love for one another. I hope each of you is able to confidently step out of your comfort zone and allow God to transform you in the way of Jesus. Can’t wait to hear more stories!!!
