We were shook (but not really)

  1. Hi all!
It’s Noah and Grace here, signing in from Ohare! Surprisingly we arrived nice and early with 3 hours prior to boarding. The ride down was a blast full of off-key singing and heightened excitement. Imagine the disappointment when one of the leaders *cough* Mel *cough* told us that our flight was delayed for 8 hours! (Just kidding) We were shook (common slang to say we were shaken), to say the least. The only thing that could have made that okay was the potential of spending the time in Ikea eating Swedish meatballs. After recovering from being so shook (just to clarify, Grace actually wrote that!) checking in went without a hitch (although some of our bags were debateably too large and we were forced to check them. Please pray that our bags, especially Katrina’s, will be waiting for us in Bucharest). So far, we are doing quite well, passing time by playing Euker and a guided tour through the airport courtesy of Ed and Marilyn. Can’t wait to hear from you guys!
    Shout outs to:
Josh: I saw that picture, I hope the beard washes off πŸ˜‰
The Pollard fam! Ali- keep.being awesome and holding down the fort while I’m gone. I’m gonna miss having you around. Moma- there ya go, first blog post just for you! Oma- don’t get too crazy while I’m gone πŸ™‚ Pops- Keep making music that’s real pretty. A little wink wink
Calvin: hi. I’m sorry I couldn’t make it to your frisbee game, I’m a little busy this week (Noah says hi)
Angie: don’t OD on cfa sauce while we’re gone.

Love you all!!
We’d love comments! Noah and Grace signing off!

  1. I’m getting the sense you guys want comments? So here you go:

Quality first blog post. Nice work Best Friend and Grace! I’m proud of you both (although I’m not sure I’m quite convinced Grace actually wrote that sentence…)

So excited for you all and can’t wait to hear about everything God has in store for you in Romania! Praying for continued safe travels for you (and all of your bags).

  2. Have a great experience!! We will be watching for your posts!! Glad the flight wasn’t really delayed!! Love you!! Gma Judy

PS — Special shout-out to the team mom, Pat. Thanks for giving hugs whenever teammates need ’em!

  4. Ahhhh I’m so excited for you guys and am proud the pranks and jokes are starting early – good practice for when you meet the OR team ☺️ Keep up the singing and the cards and rest up before the famous bus ride, weird things happen when you’re sleep deprived *mosquito emoji* I’m definitely praying for the bags – especially for you Katrina – and that travels continue smoothly. Love and miss you guys! Someone give Noah a hug and two high fives for me!

  5. Grace – Hope you’re doing well. By the time you read this you’ll probably be in Switzerland having fun (at least you should be having fun). Go break some eggs. To feed people. πŸ˜‰

  6. Nice work Mel!! Keep me on their toes… Love the pics of the plane. Hannah, I think your goal should be to eat all of your meals on the trip w those chopsticks! Just make it “your thing.” Love you! Praying for you all.

  7. And so the adventure begins! We’re so excited to hear about the journey ahead…don’t stop believin’ in what you are doing. Know that we are all thinking of and praying for you.
Be open to experience it all, the excitement will no doubt go on, and on, and on.
(Credit for the effort, Noah?! πŸ˜‰ )

    Hugs to you all,
    Moma P

  8. So glad to hear that everyone and every suitcase made it safely. Fun to hear the bantering that is already happening—hoping that fun attitude stays with you throughout the trip!

Can’t wait to hear how your first few days “on the ground” will be! Someone please hug Morgan Pincombe for us!
    Praying lots!

  9. Loving the first blog post and eager to read many more! Keep it up team!! With some of my close friends (including my amazing sister) on this trip, the stories/photos/and info mean so much more. I am so proud of all of you for taking the huge leap of faith that is joining any over-seas missions team. I am praying that God will provide in crazy ways and that your eyes, ears, and hearts will be opened more and more every day. Don’t shy away from challenges, but push into them and treat them as a chance to learn and grow! Morgan- one day without you and I am missing you A TON! Love you to pieces, have the time of your life!

Noah, Dan, and Katrina (well everyone while we’re at it)- give Morgan a huge hug for me! And make sure to keep her in line, she’s a troublemaker πŸ˜‰

  12. NOAH: Good to see the classic blog posts have started up from the best.

Everyone: I miss you guys. Hope you’re all doing good and the jetlag/travel exhaustion hasn’t killed you all

Athena: I don’t know if Romania has any bears, but don’t get eaten by any.

Bria: Be aware of those foreign candies… Sass Hannah plenty for me too

Dan: I need a Dan-Joke filled post. What gives?

Abby and Andrew: Im glad to see that the Piasćik/Karbusicky clan is still representing in Europe. Have fun and do lots of magic tricks.

KATRITRI!!!: How you doin? Don’t lose your tie-dyes or die from the plague. I seriously think that cough was an issue. Enjoy yourself and take pics of the city.
    I’m missing my adventure buddy!
Seriously though. Enjoy the food too.

And last but not least, Hannah: I’m trying my very best not to share all of your nicknames with everyone…. we’ll just exclude schmoopy for now…
Anyways, Im glad you got in safely. Try your best on those Romanian songs and make sure you have some to teach me by the time you get back.
We’re all eating dinner right off the beach rn for Sam’s birthday, and the whole fam says Hi. Make sure you post something on the blog soon. I expect top quality content, Babe.
Im missing you loads, but the swimming in the ocean and eating great food isn’t awful either. I’ve got loads to tell you already.
    Stay safe 😊

  13. So glad Mel is there to keep up the jokes! I hope someone reminded y’all of the best part of Switzerland πŸ˜‰ Praying for you all so, so much–it seems like everyday there is something that reminds me of Open Roads! Yesterday, a participant at the site I’m working at stuck a leg wax strip on his adult leader and I couldn’t help but remember those adventures from last year πŸ™‚ watch out!! Hugs to everyone! Love you guys and I’m so so proud of all the work you’re doing.

  14. A/C on the bus? This is huge news. I hope y’all can sleep off the jet lag before things get too weird. We’re praying for you!
