Graduation, Goldendoodles, & Coffee, Oh My!

Hey everybody! I’m Emily Bostrom, and I’m one of the leaders with this trip.

At the beginning of this summer, I had no idea I’d be going to Romania. After some crazy circumstances, there was a space for an extra leader, and I was asked to join the team. Though I initially wrote off the trip as an impossibility, God worked incredibly so that everything fell into place (including the 2 weekends in Romania being some of the few without weddings I’m attending, getting time off work pretty last minute, and my wonderful parents offering to move me out of my current place and into a new one. Hi Mom & Dad! You guys rock!) I tell you, God is good. A big shout out to the rest of the team for inviting me into the group with love & sass.

Anyway, here’s a mini fact-list about me:

  • I just graduated from UW-Madison with a degree in Psychology and a Certificate in Religious Studies. On Wisconsin!
  • This fall, I will being interning with Blackhawk’s High School Ministry & I am PUMPED!
  • I am really addicted to coffee. It’s almost a problem.
  • I’m from Minnesota, and I proudly support MN sports teams (yes, that includes the Vikings!)
  • My favorite creature in the world is my Goldendoodle, Leonard. He is 5 years old and very snuggly. Some people find it amusing that I take him with me to Starbucks (& Panera…. & Coldstone…) when I’m home. He loves it, and everyone he meets loves him, so it’s fine 🙂
  • I love to sing and play guitar, but I’m fairly unlikely to do that in front of a group of people.
  • I called Southern Africa home for a short period of time. Fall of my junior year of college, I decided to take a semester off and pursue my passion for missions. For 6 months, I travelled with 10 of the most incredible people in the world to the Navajo Nation, South Africa, Mozambique, and Lesotho. This sparked a love for traveling and meeting new people in me, & I am eager to go back someday.

Thank you all for supporting this trip in whatever capacity you have! We appreciate you!
