At multiple points during his ministry Jesus simply says, “Go!”

“Then Jesus said to the centurion, ‘Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would.’ And his servant was healed at that moment.”   Matthew 8:13

“Jesus did not let him, but said, ‘Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.'”   Mark 5:19

“Jesus answered, ‘If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.'”   Matthew 19:21

These are just a few examples of the call to go. And though I ripped them out of context a little bit, the point remains clear. We aren’t made to be stagnant. We are called to follow, to give, to believe, to be healed,

to go.

But to go implies being sent. Jesus sent people to go do his work. He sent them fully equipped with his teaching, his spirit, and the resources they needed to accomplish his kingdom building purpose.

This summer Blackhawk Church will be sending a team of high school student leaders and a few adults to partner with an orphan ministry in Craiova, Romania (you can read a few more details by clicking the “about” tab above.). But to be fully equipped to go, we need a large team of supporters.

Thus, we ask you to join us.

We need your prayers more than anything. As our team faces struggles and joys, we need all of it to be covered in God’s amazing grace and love. Your prayers help us experience peace in the midst of all the intense work we will be doing to love and serve the orphans in Craiova, many of whom have never had anybody tell them they are loved and valuable.

But in order to go and to be sent we need financial support as well. If you would like to give to this team, read the following details:

Checks should be made out to Blackhawk Church and the memo line must read “ROM0713-Team”. Please know that if you decide to send money it will be used to support the entire team. By designating your donation to a short term trip, you are releasing the funds to be used at the discretion of Blackhawk’s Impact Ministry for local and global missions initiatives and cannot be refunded for any reason. For logistical reasons, we are asking that any donation be received by June 1.
