At multiple points during his ministry Jesus simply says, “Go!”
“Then Jesus said to the centurion, ‘Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would.’ And his servant was healed at that moment.” Matthew 8:13
“Jesus did not let him, but said, ‘Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.'” Mark 5:19
“Jesus answered, ‘If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.'” Matthew 19:21
These are just a few examples of the call to go. And though I ripped them out of context a little bit, the point remains clear. We aren’t made to be stagnant. We are called to follow, to give, to believe, to be healed,
to go.
But to go implies being sent. Jesus sent people to go do his work. He sent them fully equipped with his teaching, his spirit, and the resources they needed to accomplish his kingdom building purpose. Continue reading →
